Fosfomycin

Fosfomycin is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by blocking the enzyme MurA (UDP-N-acetylglucosamine enolpyruvyl transferase). It is primarily used for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTI) and is effective against ESBL and MDR organisms.
